Whatcom Family Village offers programs for hopeful parents, pregnant people, new mamas, fathers, partners and kids. Becoming a parent can be challenging, exhausting, and lonely… but community support is key to thriving in the early years. We’re filling a void in our community by lowering barriers to accessing resources and caring for yourself. Whatcom Family Village offers a beautiful studio space, lounge, and kids’ play area. We have a “come as you are” philosophy, welcoming all emotions, kids in tow, PJs, milk stains and mom buns, different life experiences and paths to parenthood. Oh, and the coffee is free.
Prenatal/childbirth education courses
Postpartum support circles

Our accessible single story space is home to a lactation consultant, chiropractor, naturopath, family dietician and mental health providers, who specialize in perinatal work and have current availability, and many are accepting insurance. We offer regular community meetups, lactation support, and special workshops.
Our studio space and offices are also available to rent: for birthday parties, baby showers, or a moms’ night in!

Who We Are
Whatcom Family Village was created in early 2024 by Julia Zefting, a Bellingham mother of three young children. Whatcom Family Village staff and hosts are a remarkable community of mothers and perinatal providers. We hope to provide a space that is welcoming, supportive, and allows for peaceful and powerful transitions into early parenthood. Come join us!
